Brand showcases are a way for 3rd party brands to have a spotlight showcasing the value of their products within the Sears online store. The migration from manually curated cms to Adobe Experience Manager allowed me to collaborated with a small team of information architects, content strategists and front end developers.
We were tasked to find a sensible solution that would work with-in the new cms and also be a valuable tool for our partners to showcase product. Armed with user interviews and partner requirements the team developed a strategy that utilized a simple but effective workflows that made sense as an online shopper.
Throughout the gathering of requirements, we received a broad range of feedback and requests for how content from brand partners could be displayed. We wanted to give brands a consistent platform that was easily flexible with the various components that were available and those that were in development. Some of the responses received in interviews were teams concerned about the absence of specific features when, in fact, they were available. Others had concerns with components that were not consistent with a partners brand guidelines. Other concerns we heard were related to how the micro-sites would find traffic? No matter how well the product we had to make sure our first priority was discoverability.
Armed with user interviews and partner requirements the team developed a strategy that utilized a simple but effective workflows that made sense as an online shopper. Once the basic elements were finalized, our team worked together to produce a visually compelling layout that not only could be easily navigated but also performed at optimized speed. With a final product that exceeded expectations, 5 more TV brands had showcases designed within the templates solution.
